Eric Mansfield was born in Louisiana, and grew up in Columbus, Georgia. Dr. Mansfield obtained a ROTC scholarship and attended Howard University in Washington, D.C. He then relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana to attend Surgical and Otolaryngology Residency at Tulane University School of Medicine.
